I took a chance and decided that if I needed to I could take the dress in at the bust if it was massive on me. I was desperate to have some easy summer maternity outfit ideas because I knew my due date was July 30th. The third trimester is kind of tricky to maneuver wardrobe-wise, and it was definitely a struggle to get dressed towards the end! I’ve pulled a few of my favorite daily looks from my Instagram to help give you some inspiration if you find yourself in a similar style rut.

I can’t find this color in stock anywhere, but I did find a brown version that I love. I’m considering buying that color too! I’ve gotten a ton of wear in this one already. (Fun fact Hannah shared in her guest post about working for me!) The watch came with 2 bands – standard gray and I upgraded to a pale pink as well — and I LOVE it.
I never would have thought to look at Ugg for shoes! (They came in a Trunk Club a few months ago!) They’re super comfortable wedges that don’t have too steep of a heel. This has been my all-time favorite dress for a while and I love it even more now that I know how well it works for pregnancy! It’s a body-con dress that only costs $40 and comes in tons of colors. It’s really comfortable and super flattering (whether you’re pregnant and not!). I have it in two colors and want more!

I love the color and that it’s perfect for maternity and non. I’m wearing it here with the Sam Edelman shoes I love. It’s long and flowy with an opening for nursing mamas. The nursing accessibility is what led me to break my “no maternity dress” rule. I have this All Day Long Midi T-Shirt Dress from Free People in navy and love it.
But during 3rd trimester it’s been mostly non-maternity clothes for me - only one item here is maternity and I simply sized up on everything else. During the day or at night, the combo of a classic dot dress and a black moto jacket is a recipe for outfit perfection. When you don't feel like getting all dressed, but your friend invited you to lunch, a long sheer floral wrap is the answer. Just throw on over a tank and wear your most comfortable jeans. While the dress felt massive when I tried it on at 2 months pregnant, it fits like a dream at 8 months pregnant! I’m sure the fit is supposed to be tighter in the bust, but right now I don’t want any fabric clinging to me while I’m carrying this big baby around. We live in a society where “oooh your baby bump is SOOOOO cute” turns into “GET RID OF THAT POOCH” the second you give birth.
It’s no longer on sale but you can still snag it, it’s available in 3 colors and the suede is so soft! I can’t get enough of this coat and will be wearing it as much as I can in the fall. The super soft feel of this teal jumpsuit, along the removable belt, is a pregnant women’s dream. Wear it with white sneakers and a light denim jacket for cooler days. It’s not true maternity, making it ANOTHER win! The shoes are the same Sam Edelman heels as above with the scalloped detail. I topped the dress with this suede jacket that I got at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
This skirt is one of the last maternity items I have bought. I made a vow to myself to stop buying maternity clothes at a certain point because I really don’t need any more, ha! I was drawn to the print on the skirt, and even though I tried to stay away from wearing an outfit like this, the skirt sold me. It’s bright and fun and OH MY GOD,socomfortable! It’s not hard to see why all those pregnant women wear outfits like this.
The dress skims the bump whilst pregnant, but doesn’t hug your stomach post-pregnancy. It’s long, but the fabric is light, which is appreciated when you’re going through all those hot flashes post-baby. To feel a little more put together, I threw a kimono-style robe over it like this one. I’m feeling the sporty look of this Sportswear Icon Clash Maxi Dress (available in plus-sizes). It’s made for movement so you can feel comfortable, even if all you’re doing is washing bottles or rocking a baby to sleep.
